Law Offices of Joseph F. Cawley, P.C.
At the Law Offices of Joseph F. Cawley, P.C., we believe that you are entitled to able representation by an attorney who is up-to-date, knowledgeable and experienced in the area of law that pertains to your particular needs. With the ever-changing and evolving nature of our federal and state laws, regulations and procedures, we don't feel that it is possible for a lawyer today to provide the kind of representation that you deserve in every aspect of the law. That's why we limit our practice to the areas in which we excel, namely personal injury and criminal defense.
"Personal injury" is a broad field in itself, encompassing virtually everything that results in "injury" to a person. If you've fallen because of a dangerous condition on someone else's property, or been injured by a defective household appliance, hurt in a motor vehicle collision or a work accident, or received inadequate medical care, you may have a "personal injury" claim. If you've been injured and wonder whether you have a legal claim, we would be happy to review the matter with you. We will give you an honest assessment of your case as we see it, and if we feel that your claim would not be successful or that, even if successful, the potential recovery would not justify your time and expenses, we will tell you so. We do not charge for such consultations, and you incur no cost for our services unless and until you retain us and we begin work on your case.
"Criminal defense" is a specialized field of law in which it is critical that you obtain competent legal advice. When you've been charged with a crime, your good name, reputation, freedom and even your life can be at risk. We understand this and we take our responsibilities to you very seriously. You can expect knowledgeable and informed advice with respect to the possible consequences of the charge, the viability of potential defenses, and your chances of success at trial. We understand that you may not be familiar with the workings of the criminal justice system, and will do our best to inform you as to what you can expect and what your legal options are. Again, you can count on our honest, objective assessment of your case and our full efforts to provide you with the best representation possible, whether you've been charged with a simple traffic infraction or a serious felony. Should you decide to go to trial, you can be assured of able and experienced representation in the courtroom.
