About Bill D. Eberhard, Jr.
Bill Eberhard divides his practice among the various Eberhard & Gastineau, P.C. offices. Mr. Eberhard graduated valedictorian from the Prairie Heights Community School Corporation in 1972. He attended Indiana State University where he studied as a General Motors Scholar. He graduated in 1976 Magna cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration. Mr. Eberhard obtained his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law in 1979, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He procured his MBA with Indiana Wesleyan in 1990, graduating at the top of his class.
Mr. Eberhard has extensive legal experience in all phases of Municipal Government, including not only litigation but also sewer and water matters, ordinance and contract matters, environmental matters, and bonding issues. In addition, Mr. Eberhard has represented the smallest units of local government, towns and townships, through counties, and even the State of Indiana on various issues. His work regarding towns and townships has taken him to the Supreme Court of Indiana for oral argument. He has extensive experience in all facets of school law. Mr. Eberhard represents a number of insurance companies as defense counsel in many different areas of the law. Mr. Eberhard spends the majority of his time in the area of personal injury litigation. His practice includes a variety of litigation matters, including automotive injury matters, slip and falls, products liability, malpractice, liquor license issues, commercial motor carrier accidents, and discrimination matters. His knowledge of metals, and mechanical matters, when combined with a strong physics background, gives him a unique insight and understanding of even the most complex automobile accidents and products related cases. Mr. Eberhard continues to represent individual plaintiffs, a large number of governmental entities, sewer boards, school systems, and his insurance clients.
Mr. Eberhard also has an extensive trust and estate practice where his business and mathematics training are utilized for application to probate/tax matters. Real estate and business entity formation and operation are final areas within which Mr. Eberhard has special insights and abilities.
Mr. Eberhard is licensed to practice in Indiana State Courts, the Indiana State Tax Court, Michigan State Courts, as well as the Northern and Southern District Federal Courts of Indiana. He is listed in the Indiana Registry of Approved Civil Mediators.
