About William M. Quin II:

William ("Billy") M. Quin II, born in McComb, Mississippi and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, attended the University of Mississippi. Billy earned varsity football letters at Ole Miss, and was named numerous times to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll. Billy graduated from Ole Miss in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Billy earned his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University in 1997. While in law school, Billy won the Flory Trial Competition and received regional awards for his oral argument in the Jessup International Law Appellate Competition.

Following his graduation from law school, Billy served as a judicial law clerk for Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Michael P. Mills. He co-authored, with Justice Mills, "The Right to a ‘Minimally Adequate Education’ as Guaranteed by the Mississippi Constitution," 61 Alb. L. Rev. 1521 (1998), during this time.

Billy joined a New Orleans, Louisiana law firm in the summer of 1998, where his practice was primarily focused in the fields of personal injury defense, admiralty and maritime law. In April 2001, Billy returned to Mississippi, and expanded his practice to include insurance bad faith litigation, complex commercial disputes and medical malpractice.

Among Billy's most notable commercial cases is his securities fraud suits on behalf of WorldCom stock and bond holders, which were were highlighted on the PBS television news program, NOW with Bill Moyers. In April 2005, he and co-counsel negotiated an historic $125 million settlement with MCI Inc. for state tax liabilities owed the State of Mississippi as a result of a fraudulent tax evasion scheme employed by WorldCom.  Billy has also recovered $18.5 million for the State of Mississippi from Eli Lilly & Co. as result of the company's fraudulent promotion of the prescription drug, Zyprexa. Billy has also handled numerous significant personal injury cases, involving burn injuries, brain injuries and death.

At the age of 33, Billy attained an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, signifying "very high" ethical standards and "very high to preeminent" legal ability. He frequently serves as a guest lecturer on pre-trial and trial procedures and strategies at continuing legal education seminars.
