George P. Ford - Born in Gadsden, Alabama, George Ford has practiced law in Alabama since 1972. He has a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University and received his law degree summa cum laude from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, Curia Honoris, and the Cumberland-Samford Law Review. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar (Vice President, 1997-1998; State Bar Commissioner 16th Judicial Circuit, 1988-1994 and 1997-2003; Board of Bar Examiners, 1982-1986; Disciplinary Commission, 1991-1993), Alabama Supreme Court Standing Committee on Rules of Judicial Administration, Etowah County Bar Association (President, 1988), Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Alabama Law Institute, International Association of Defense Counsel, and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has an active trial practice in a variety of areas including insurance defense, insurance coverage, municipal and civil rights liability, products liability, wrongful death, fraud, bad faith, and related litigation matters.
H. Edgar Howard - Born in Mobile, Alabama, Ed Howard received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Alabama where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, the Environmental Law Society, and the Law & Psychology Review (Managing Editor). He has practiced law in Alabama since 1991 and is a member of the American Bar Association, Alabama State Bar (Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee), Etowah County Bar Association, and Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. He is a speaker at continuing legal education seminars on police and municipal liability. Ed has an active trial practice that includes municipal liability, civil rights, labor and employment, insurance defense, and related litigation matters. |
Bradley W. Cornett - Born in Maryville, Tennessee, Brad Cornett received his bachelor of science degree in business administration summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. He received his law degree from the University of North Carolina where he was a member of Holderness Moot Court and the Christian Legal Society. He has been admitted to practice law in Alabama since 1995. Brad is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Etowah County Bar Association (Secretary / Treasurer, 1999-2000), American Inns of Court (Secretary / Treasurer, Etowah County Chapter, 2002-2004), Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He has an active trial practice including insurance defense, products liability, municipal liability, creditors rights (corporate collections and bankruptcy), premises liability, automobile accidents, on-the-job injuries, and related litigation matters. |
Elizabeth Ragsdale Howard - (of counsel) - Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Beth Howard received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center where she was a member of Delta Theta Phi (President, Georgetown Chapter). She has been admitted to practice law in Alabama since 1992. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Etowah County Bar Association. Although she devotes much of her time to raising her and Ed's son, Beth practices with the firm on an as needed basis in all areas of civil litigation. |
