We are engaged in the general practice of law with a concentration on personal injury law. We regularly handle high profile cases and cases involving important individual rights.
We continually get involved in local and community affairs. Currently we are co-sponsored along with the Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association the People's Law School. This was a five-week series of lectures to assist the public to better understand our justice system.
We also accept attorney referrals and act as local counsel for other attorneys litigating cases in the southern region of Louisiana. We employ a full staff of paralegals and clerical persons to assist the attorneys in the processing of our cases. Our staff is well trained and able to attend to needs of the attorneys and clients. David Groner
Mr. Groner is a life-long resident of Iberia Parish, Louisiana. Mr. Groner maintains memberships and associations with many local civic and charitable groups.
Mr. Groner received is Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from Louisiana State University. He was first licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana in 1981 and has been practicing in the local area since that time.

Since he began practicing, Mr. Groner has continued his legal education through various legal educational programs , attending numerous seminars throughout the year and has completed the Ultimate Trial Advocacy Course sponsored by the National College of Advocacy at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Currently, Mr. Groner co-sponsers the "People's Law School" with the Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association, providing a month long series of seminars available to the general public. The seminars provide a broad range of topics dealing with various areas of the law , taught by area Judges and attorneys. Mr. Groner also has become a frequent speaker for the Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association where he lectures to other attorneys for completion of Continuing Legal Education.
Mr. Groner has been appointed by the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana to be Chairman of the Atchafalaya Basin Land Commission, which acts to determine fair compensation to landowners whose property is being expropriated by the Federal Government.
Mr. Groner has been appointed by United States District Judge Richard Haik to the Plaintiff's Liaison Committee to the Eunice Train Derailment Class Action and has been appointed by United States District Judge Rebecca Doherty to the Plaintiff Steering Committee and recently was appointed Class Counsel to process the Preliminary Settlement Agreement in the New Iberia Train Derailment Class Action.
Mr. Groner currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association and has been a Speaker at Auto Tort Litigation Seminars for attorneys.
Frank Barber
Mr. Barber received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1989. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Louisiana State University in 1994 and began practicing law in October, 1994.
Mr. Barber has extensive experience in litigation in the areas of personal injury, domestic and business litigation. Mr. Barber is also a licensed helicopter pilot. As an avid aviator, he takes special interest in litigation involving aviation. Mr. Barber brings to David Groner, P.L.C. his broad education and work experience in the fields of business and accounting.

April Petry
Ms. Petry, a native of Gueydan, Louisiana, received her Bachelor degree and Juris Doctor degree from Louisiana State University.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Petry served as a lawclerk for the judges of the 14th Judicial District Court, Parish of Calcasieu.
Ms. Petry concentrates her practice in the areas of personal injury, domestic/family and business litigation.
