About Michael R. Bilbrey
Michael R. Bilbrey, J.D., brings 23 years of experience as an attorney to the firm of Bilbrey and Hylla, P.C. After receiving his law degree in 1980, he joined the law offices of Irvin Slate Jr. Bilbrey practiced there until 1983, when he formed the firm of Hopkins and Bilbrey, which in 1990 added two partners to become Bono, Goldenberg, Hopkins and Bilbrey. Before launching his new firm in the year 2000, he practiced as a solo attorney for four years.
Since 1990, he has concentrated in the area of representing victims of asbestos-related disease, and his firms have combined settlements and verdicts in the millions of dollars. His firms have handled cases for construction workers, janitors, refinery workers and hundreds of other people who fell victim to the diseases caused by exposure to asbestos, including cases of secondary exposure affecting the unfortunate spouses of workers. The spouses often were exposed at home when they unwittingly came in contact with asbestos-tainted clothing worn by their working husband or wife.

About David A. Hylla
David A. Hylla, J.D., brings 18 years of experience as an attorney to the firm of Bilbrey and Hylla, P.C. After receiving his law degree in 1985 from St. Louis University, he joined the law firm of Hopkins and Bilbrey. In 1988, he left to join the law firm of Pratt & Callis, P.C. and continued as an Associate and Partner with that firm and its various permutations until 2000, when he teamed up with Mike Bilbrey again.
Four years after graduating from law school, Dave assumed control over a large docket of occupational hearing loss cases, resulting in his recovery of over 10 million dollars in jury verdicts and settlements for these injured workers. Since 1988, he has concentrated in personal injury litigation for injured railroad employees and others and has handled cases involving injuries ranging from asbestos-related disease, hearing loss, back and neck injury and death throughout many parts of the United States. Dave has won numerous jury trials from West Virginia to Montana. Results of jury verdicts for twelve of his railroad worker clients have been reported in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s national publication, the Law Reporter. His past and present firms have combined settlements and verdicts in the many millions of dollars for victims of a variety of occupational diseases and injuries.
He also serves as an attorney for the Service Employees International Union Local 98 arbitrating labor law issues for hundreds of school district employees in Southern Illinois.
