Jeffrey H. Friedman
Cleveland native and founding partner Jeffrey H. Friedman was born on July 8, 1947. After completing his undergraduate studies at John Carroll University, and law school at Case Western University, he was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1973. In addition, Jeffrey is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Florida Bar.
Throughout his career, Jefrey has been a champion for victim’s rights, serving as a founding sponsor of the Civil Justice Foundation and as Advocate with the National College of Advocacy. In addition, he is an active member of the Cleveland Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Jeffrey’s legal specialties include Product Liability, Neglegence, Employment Discrimination, Insurance Law, Wrongful Death, Railroad Law, Medical Malpractice, and Federal Employer’s Liability Act (FELA).
Joseph C. Domiano
Founding partner Joseph C. Domiano brings the firm a wealth of legal experience drawn from a diverse career in the profession. Born in Cleveland on October 21, 1928, Joseph earned a BBA Degree at Adelbert College of Case Western Reserve before earning his legal degree at Cleveland State in 1956. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1957, and is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio, U.S. Supreme Court, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit.
Joseph’s perspective on the law has been shaped through his service as Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, Prosecutor for the City of Maple Heights, Village of Bentleyville Soliciter, Counsel to the Maple Heights Board of Education, Twinsburg City Schools, and Law Director, City of Olmsted Falls.
In service to the local legal community, Joseph has been a member of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association, serving as a Trustee for the past 22 years, and as President in 1994. He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Bar Association, Lorain County Bar Association, the Cleveland Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America where he is Fellow, National College of Advocacy. His areas of specialized practice include employment, intentional torts, negligence law, and railroad motorist-pedestrian law.
In civic service, Joseph has served as parish council and finance council member of the Church of the Resurrection, and as a board member of Transitional Housing, Inc., a facility for homeless women.
He also enjoys concerts, ballet, golf, sailing, boating, scuba diving, and snow skiing.
M. David Smith
Born in Cleveland on April 8, 1944, M. David Smith pursued his undergraduate education at Ohio State University before completing his Law Degree at Cleveland Marshall in 1970. Admitted to the Ohio Bar that same year, David is also licensed to practice in Florida.
Prior to founding Friedman, Domiano and Smith Co., L.P.A. David worked for the Internal Revenue Service. He is a member of the Cuyahoga County and Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers. specialized areas of practice include Real Estate Law, Business Law, Trial Practice and Wrongful Death.
