Alfred J. Welsh, of Counsel, practices in the very different areas of personal injury/medical malpractice and international business law. Welsh is licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is a member of the Virginia and American Bar Associations.

“Each case has its own rhythm,” says Welsh, explaining the need to take one’s time to fully assess each case before deciding on a strategy. In many cases, the full extent of an injury may not manifest itself for months after the incident.

Welsh is unusual in the attention he gives to making sure the client gets the best medical result to their situation as well as the best financial result. In a recent case, for example, he has worked with the hospital, which has admitted negligence, to find the best specialists and devise a course of treatment for a malpractice victim.

International business and economic development

Sir Alfred J. Welsh is a knight of Kingdom of Belgium and serves as Belgian Consul to the Ohio Valley region of the U.S. Welsh assists U.S. companies establish business relationships in Europe and vice versa. He has led a number of economic development commissions and trade missions.

Welsh holds law degrees from both the University of Kentucky and the Vrije Universiteit in Brussels, Belgium. He has extensive relationships throughout the diplomatic, legal, financial, and business communities of the Continent and Great Britain.

Having worked as a Congressional staff person, Welsh has lobbied both at the national and state levels..
