My firm is located in the heart of Clear Lake City, a suburb of Houston close to the Johnson Space Center and midway between Houston and Galveston, Texas.  Although I have practiced in this area for my entire career, my practice is not limited to clients from these cities. I have frequently served injured individuals and families, or defrauded individuals or businesses, from all over the State and Nation.

For the past 37 years, it has been my goal to provide highly personalized and supportive legal representation at a time when seriously injured individuals and their families, or defrauded business owners, often feel vulnerable or even devastated.  Many of my clients are referred by friends and family members of former clients and, unfortunately, some become repeat clients when in need of further legal attention.

Honesty is the pillar of my personal and professional life.  I care deeply about my clients and work hard to represent them with the utmost integrity and the highest ethical standards.  However, I will not hesitate to fight tenaciously on my clients’ behalf, perservering with hard work, determination and skill, invariably the ingredients needed for the legal success.

I was born in 1946 in the segregated South in a small city, Vicksburg, Mississippi.  My experiences and observations in this culture had a profound effect on me.  After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, I entered the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas.  During my third year of studies, I advised low-income clients seeking assistance from the Legal Aid Society of Travis County, which specialized in giving free legal advice to the economically disadvantaged.  I earned my Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1971 and was admitted to the Texas Bar the same year.

My professional career began in 1971 as an associate in Washington, D.C. at the United States Department of Justice.  In 1972, I returned to Texas where I worked for four years before becoming a 21 year partner in the well-known Houston law firm of Krist, Gunn, Weller, Neumann & Morrison.  There, together with the firm’s partners, I handled many cases of national prominence, producing a number of large dollar results (by settlement, trial or appeal).

In 1997, I formed my own firm.  I handle, by choice, a select number of clients who have experienced major business losses or serious personal injury or wrongful death.  By carefully selecting the cases to be prosecuted, I strive to maximize the development and recovery of each case.  My goal is to provide my clients with highly personalized and superior quality representation.
