Attorney David Richards has had a multitude of life experiences. Playing the trumpet while growing up in Salt Lake City, Dave entered the University of Utah on a MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP While graduating from the U of U with a bachelor's degree in PSYCHOLOGY, Dave continued to play music throughout the United States and Canada.
Dave's playing credits include: Tony Bennett, The Four Tops, Jerry Lewis, Lynda Carter, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdink, The Fifth Dimension, Debbie Reynolds, Kenny Rogers, Joan Rivers, Bill Cosby and many more. His ability to play diverse styles allowed further employment with Traveling Broadway Shows, The Ice Capades, Barnum & Bailey Circus and the Utah Symphony. UNION AFFILIATION: He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians in Reno/Lake Tahoe, Nevada; Daytona Beach, Florida; Cocoa Beach, Florida; S.L.C., Utah and Los Angeles California.
The advent of Digital Music signaled a change, as computers took over many of the opportunities for trumpet players. Dave entered Law School.
While in Law School, Dave felt it would be of value to work and gain experience in the field of Insurance. He was employed by a major insurance company in both the in-house legal department and as a major casualty adjuster. This experience proved invaluable for the practice of Law. Experience was gained in the evaluation of claims/injuries. Numerous types of Insurance Policies and their breadth of coverage were studied. Bad Faith concepts were understood and taught. Communication skills in writing and speaking were honed.
A Legal Education is certainly one of the best a person can experience. For Dave, Law School provided even more opportunity and reward, as he met his wife and future partner, Linda. They married in 1980, a year before graduating from USFV/LaVerne Law School.
Mr. Richards has had almost 30 years of highly successful courtroom experience.
