Why Choose Our Law Firm?
Skilled Legal Representation for Accident Victims in Atlanta
Choosing the best Georgia personal injury lawyer for you and your family may be one of the most important decisions you will make. So what are some things that you should consider before making your decision? Below we outline what we believe sets us apart and explain why the most important factor is that you can trust that your lawyer and the firm have your best interests at heart. If you or someone you know has been injured, we strongly encourage you to contact our firm today and you will immediately understand why so many other Georgians have placed their trust in the professionals at our firm.
Here at Henningsen Injury Lawyers, P.C., we are a hands-on, pro-active personal injury firm that has the experience and knowledge necessary to ensure that you and your family get the compensation that they deserve. Mr. Henningsen has collected millions of dollars on behalf of his clients and has the resources to make sure that the insurance company takes your claims seriously and fairly compensates you for all that you have been through. You only have one chance to get the proper representation on your Atlanta personal injury case so we strongly encourage you to do your research and believe that you will find that we are the personal injury firm to protect your rights.
We actually file lawsuits and take personal injury cases to trial.
As shocking as this may sound, there are many "personal injury attorneys" in Georgia who tout their experience but have never stepped foot in a courtroom or even filed a lawsuit. The value of your Atlanta personal injury claim is determined by what 12 impartial jurors would do in a trial of your case. Without an understanding of what it takes to actually try a case, how can an Atlanta accident lawyer effectively counsel a client on the pros and cons of going to trial? Although it is impossible to predict what a jury would do on any given case, you should, at a minimum, have a lawyer who understands how to file a lawsuit and try your personal injury case.
The insurance company knows which lawyers try cases and which do not. We can assure you that the injury lawyer who tries cases has an advantage in obtaining better settlement offers than the lawyers and law firms who have no trial experience. The insurance company knows which lawyers try cases, so should you. We encourage you to ask any potential lawyer about their history and record of filing lawsuits and trying cases. We believe that you will be impressed with our results. In fact, Mr. Henningsen was recently honored with the Top Georgia Verdict in the Fall Category for a case that he tried in 2010 where he obtained a $400,000.00 verdict for his client. We understand that not everyone wants to file a lawsuit.
Although we prepare your case as if it is going to trial, we recognize that not everyone that makes a personal injury claim want to have their case tried before a judge and jury. Many times, we are able to get a fair and reasonable settlement offer by simply preparing the case is if it is going to go to trial, but not actually having to file a lawsuit. In the right cases, this approach helps us to obtain the best settlement possible without having to undergo the lengthy trial process.
Your case is handled by an Atlanta injury lawyer, not a case manager or a paralegal.
We are not a firm that utilizes case managers and paralegals to handle your claims. I cannot tell you how many times we have had a potential client call us that was represented by another law firm and they will tell us that they only initially spoke to an accident attorney and in the months since the injury, have only had contact with a case manager or a paralegal. At Henningsen Injury Attorneys, we don't use this "bait and switch" method. We recognize that you did not hire a case manager or a paralegal to handle your claim - you hired a Georgia personal injury lawyer. That is why all the negotiations and legal issues will be handled by an attorney not a case manager or paralegal.
We return your phone calls.
This may seem basic, but the truth is that many lawyers are bad about getting in touch with their clients and returning phone calls. At our firm we are committed to making sure that your needs are handled in an effective and timely manner. This means answering the phone, returning phone calls, and following through on what we said that we are going to do. Mr. Henningsen always provides his clients with a direct way to reach him. Whether it be through email, phone, letter, or even text message, we are committed to making sure that your questions are answered.
We will take the time to make sure we understand your case and take steps to protect your rights.
Each and every case is different. Even what may seem like the most routine of cases can have complications. In the cases that we accept, we make sure to advise clients how to stop problems before they ever happen. Many times lawyers are simply "reacting" to problems that they could have avoided had they understood the case better and properly advised the client about the proper steps to take. We are pro-active in our representation of victims of personal injury and will take the time to explain the law so you can take action to protect yourself and your case.

Richard Kopelman, Special Counsel
Attorney Richard Kopelman has practiced law since 1987. During the early years of his legal career, Richard represented insurance companies and big businesses, but quickly realized that his true calling was representing plaintiffs in personal injury claims and lawsuits. Richard is passionate about helping others, a champion of the underdog, and an aggressive personal injury advocate.
In 1991, Richard dedicated his career to personal injury law. He is licensed in federal and state courts across the state and is well-versed in mass tort, multi-district litigation (MDL), where he represents clients on the local, statewide, and national levels. With significant experience in the insurance industry, Richard knows how to identify weak opposing arguments and exploit them for the benefit of his client.
Richards's success includes a multitude of substantial settlements and jury verdicts, including at least one million-dollar settlement. This accomplishment earned him a place in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum®. Today, he continues to build a reputation for excellence in the legal community as he strives to become the most skilled and well-prepared legal advocate in the greater Atlanta area.
As a client's advocate, Richard believes that "It is [my] responsibility, in fact [my] duty…to make the members of the jury feel like they have known the client all of his or her life, because only then can jurors truly understand the devastating effects of the client's injury. Without such an understanding, a jury cannot possibly return a just and proper verdict in our client's favor."
Richard graduated with honors from Washington and Lee University and earned his law degree from the University of Georgia. As a law student, he represented the university in moot court competitions and even placed first in the Southeast Regional competition. He was also selected as a national member of The Order of Barristers, an organization that recognizes excellence in legal education.
