Joey Diaz

Joey Diaz was born in a small Mississippi town on the Gulf of Mexico. Practicing law was something he always wanted to do. At an early age, he saw people hurt and suffer and decided he wanted to make a difference.

“Thousands of people are hurt and injured every day. The thought of going up against a global corporation, the drug industry, the insurance industry or other guilty parties, to help someone else, can be so intimidating that without help, many people would never receive what rightfully belongs to them or restore what was taken from them. Our team is dedicated to helping other people.”

When his practice began, Mr. Diaz tried hundreds of cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to complex cases, including death penalty cases. Passionate about life, Mr. Diaz says the death penalty cases are the most difficult. “If you lose, you lose a life.” Mr. Diaz finds great satisfaction in knowing he has helped save lives.

His successful trials include medical malpractice, complex product litigation and multi-plaintiff litigation cases. His passion is fighting to protect our environment and natural resources.

Involved and respected in the law community, Mr. Diaz has taught classes on legal writing and research and serves as a mentor in the trial advocacy program at his law school. Nationally recognized for his expertise, he is frequently asked to speak on the topics of jury selection and trial technique.

Mr. Diaz is also an advocate for the American Association for Justice (formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) and was elected and served as president of the Mississippi Association for Justice (formerly known as the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association).

In addition, Mr. Diaz has served as president of the Hinds County Trial Lawyers Association and as chairman of the State Delegates of the American Association for Justice (AAJ). He frequents Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming, where he has completed the Basic College and Graduate I and Graduate II training programs.

Mr. Diaz is also a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the AAJ Trial Advocacy Program, which included its Basic College, Advanced College and Ultimate Trial Advocacy Program. Additionally, he is a graduate of the National Association of Criminal Defense Trial Advocacy College.
